Elder Anita Licorish /God’s Poet is a native of Richmond, Virginia and the eldest of four siblings. She received her firm foundation in the House of the Lord and is driven by divine destiny to make ministry her life. She has taught elementary school in Virginia, Ohio and New York and has served as a mentor to other educators and children. Anita currently lives in San Juan, Puerto Rico with her husband and children.
As a spoken word artist, Anita testifies that God is the Great Poet in her life who uses her as the vessel to bring about an innovative, unique style of praise for Him. God has given Anita a passion for people and marriages and the healing of them. She has spoken at many venues such as prayer breakfasts, scholarship fundraisers, churches, as well as for radio and television.
Anita and her husband Samuel head Keeping God 1st Ministries. With her collection of “spoken words” Anita has ministered with The gospel recording trio, Trin-i-tee 5:7 and Joy B. Moore, “The Jazz Diva of Inspiration”. Prophetess ministered with Stellar Awards new artist of the year, RiZen, Dove and Grammy award winner Rcihard Smallwood, the late and former pro-basketball player Wayman Tisdale, John Stoddart, Neville Peter, bassist Bernard Harris, BB. Jay, V3, Corey Red, Canton Jones, Cynthia Jones, Todd Galberth, Gary Mays, New Era and Bishop Michael Kelsey and the New Samaritan Choir. Anita’s “soul” desire is to help bring souls out of the dark and into the light.
Today, her sophomore album CD “It’s Time” is distributed in over 67 countries. God has equipped Anita with the anointing to show that there are many unique ways to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
